Liberal Arts Program
Open Door Christian School offers a complete liberal arts elementary and
middle school program that includes Art,
Band, Computer, Drama, Music, PE, and Spanish. Each teacher is ACSI
certified in his or her field of instruction. All full
time instructional personnel hold the minimum of a bachelor’s degree.
Individual
Attention
Open
Door Christian School maintains a class size ration of no more than 24 to 1.
Students receive individualized attention through classroom
instruction, faculty sponsored help classes, and volunteer parent tutoring.
Curriculum
Open Door Christian School provides an eclectic program using ABeka, Bob
Jones, ACSI, Saxon, and AoL Reading.
Academic Standards
Open Door Christian School uses a 6-point grading scale. Students
demonstrating academic achievement and/or notable character throughout the
year are recognized each spring at Awards Night. Students achieving
Honor Roll (3.0 - 3.49 GPA) and Hall of Honor (3.5 - 4.0 GPA) status are
also recognized each grading period. A student is placed on academic
probation if he or she falls below 78% in overall GPA and receives an “
F” in any core subject.
Accreditation
Open Door Christian School is an active member of the Association
of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and is working on Accreditation.
